Using Talk Topics
Talk Topics are great for starting and learning about conversations.
– Learning
how
to have conversations isn’t that simple for people who use speech devices. Talk Topics can help make that happen!
– Each column has one specific communication category.
– Start at the left and choose the phrases that are closest to what you want to say.
– Don’t forget to also use questions. (That’s a key part of conversation!)
– Use the last column to have a story you like to tell
– You’ll be surprised at how powerful pre-programmed speech can be for quick exchanges. And… for learning
how
to have conversations.
– Don’t forget to make your own Talk Topics! For example, for a daily activity or special occasions like visiting relatives.
