Core Columns
All AAC devices offer Core Vocabulary, the essential building blocks of language. Our unique approach, Core Columns, organizes these words in columns instead of rows for easier scanning—mirroring how we naturally process information.
Core Columns:
Starting with our Core Page, the top row contains broad categories such as People, Verbs, Things, Places, Modifiers, Little Words, and Questions, which serve as folders for accessing related vocabulary. Below each folder are the most frequently used core words arranged in columns, making it easy to find common vocabulary at a glance.
If the word you want isn’t there, open the category folder, at the top of the column, where more vocabulary is revealed,, organized in the same consistent way. This pattern continues throughout, with a broad category folder at the top and relevant vocabulary in the columns beneath it, ensuring easy navigation and access to commonly used words.
You’ll find easy-to-navigate columns in all Talk Suite modes!
Columns mirror how our brain looks at lists. And so we also apply it to all our other communication modes, such as Talk Topics, a fantastic tool for enhancing social engagement. Each Talk Topic page is consistently organized into the same columns across all subjects. The top row features broad categories like "I want," "Things," "Thumbs up," "Thumbs down," "Questions," and "Stories," with relevant vocabulary and phrases for each idea displayed below.
